1. How do you charge for stock photography?
Usage fees are carefully calculated on the importance of the photo in the
final ad, brochure, billboard etc. We need to know what the photo is being
used for, what size it will appear, where it will appear and what the print
run, length of time or number of insertions will be. For example, a quarter
page in-house newsletter circulated only in Singapore costs less than a worldwide
double page Time magazine ad. The more we know about how a photo is being used the better
the price we can give you. There is no point paying for rights you won't use. Back to top.
2. Can I search for images on your web site?
Yes! Type your search query into the Search Bar on our home page. Back

3. What are the advantages of stock over assignment photography?
With assignment photography, you hire a photographer to produce a specific
image. In the process you incur travel expenses, models' fees, equipment rental,
film processing, and the photographer's fee without any assurance that you'll
end up with the photo you had in mind. Assignment photographers often face
unforeseen problems such as unfavourable weather, technical setbacks, or the
difficulties of producing those hard-to-get or impossible-to-find subjects
at a moment's notice. Stock photography provides guaranteed results. The ideal
photo is already produced, cost-effective, and immediately available to you.
In essence, with stock photography, what you are seeing is what you are getting. Back

4. What are your payment terms?
The terms of our license state that no rights are granted until payment is
received in full. That means that you don't have the legal right to use the
images until we receive payment. You can however apply for 30 day credit terms
after we have established a good credit rating with your company. Otherwise,
for first time clients our terms are strictly cash. Back to top.
5. Does Ian need an assistant?
Not at the moment. For large
jobs requiring lots of equipment he will sometimes hire a camera assistant
in the location he is photographing in. If you are interested and have experience
assisting professional photographers you can leave your contact details and
background info for us to have on file. Back to top.
6. Can Ian speak at our photography club?
Ian is often asked to talk at clubs or be a judge at photo competitions. With sufficent advance notice this can be worked into his schedule. He also gives seminars and workshops
and you can click
here to see where the next event is taking place near you. Back
